Maryland Engagement Story – A Spring Photoshoot in Frederick MD

While waiting tables at a local restaurant near Gettysburg, PA, Bridey Puvall saw a young man sitting in her section whom she found very handsome. Read on for this adorable Maryland Engagement Story told by the bride herself and photographed by Kimberly Zerfas Photography.

The couple chose downtown Frederick, Maryland for their engagement session!

In January of 2017, Adam Sweckard, an active duty Marine stationed in Washington D.C., took some time off of a work trip to visit the battlefields of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

As he toured the battlefields and museum, taking in all the history, he thought about his call to serve in the present day.

On his way home, Adam pulled off the highway to grab a bite to eat at a family restaurant in a nearby town. Little did he know that stop and that meal would change his life forever.

Bridey Puvel, who had just finished her last semester at college and was about to move to Pittsburgh for an internship, was waiting tables at that restaurant. When she saw a tall, young man seated in her section, she thought he was very handsome.

As, she bustled over to get the young man’s drink order, their eyes locked on one another. Both of their hearts skipped a beat… and Bridey’s heart skipped again when she picked up the receipt off the table and saw a phone number written on the bottom.

Fast forward one year and one month later…

Adam and Bridey took a trip to New York City to celebrate their one year anniversary. They saw a Broadway musical, window shopped, attended mass at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, and spent the hours before sunset exploring Central Park. Just as the day was about to close, Adam brought Bridey to a rocky ledge overlooking the Central Park ice skating rink and the city skyline. He expressed how much he loves her and how much their year together had meant to him and then got down on one knee – of course, she said YES!
